1995-96 Grants Round Up
The 1995-96 season is turning out to be one of ATJT's biggest years for grants, including the company's first National Endowment for the Arts Challenge Program, California Arts Council Challenge Program, Rockefeller Foundation and Pew Charitable Trusts grants.
Below is a sampling of grants awarded over the past year and the programs they help support: NEA Challenge Program A 3-year grant in support of the development of new work as part of ATJT's shift toward a greater local presence in the Bay Area.
CAC Challenge Program
In support of ATJT's shift and production of the 1995-96 home season.
Rockefeller Foundation In support of the development and production of a new collaborative work by Naomi Newman and dancer/choreographer Remy Charlip on 'aging'.
San Francisco Art Commission
In support of initial renovations to ATJT's new theatre at Project Artaud.
Jewish Community Endowment Fund
A one-year grant in support of ATJT's Community Outreach Program, designed to bring the work of ATJT into the Jewish community.
The Pew Charitable Trusts Through the National Theatre Artist Residency Program, administered by Theatre Communications Group, in support of the residency of playwright/director/performer Martha Boesing.
The Fund for U.S. Artists Administered by Arts International and funded by the NEA, U.S. Information Agency, Rockefeller Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, in support of ATJT's first Australian tour.
The Robert Sillins Family Foundation
Two grants, one in support of ATJT's New Play Development Program, and the other in support of marketing for Barbara Borden's "She Dares To Drum".
Koret Foundation
In support of general operations during the company's 1995-96 season. Flintridge Foundation In support of the development of a new collaborative work on 'aging'.
