Bernard Malamuds The Jewbird is a masterful dark comedy, by the pioneer of American Jewish fiction. The piece chronicles the unexpected appearance of an overbearing avian into a New York apartment, an event that forces painful questioning of human identity and values. Malamuds surrealism is perfectly complemented on this double bill with the lyrical voice of Grace Paley in Goodbye and Good Luck. With generous vision, Paley inspires hope through the surprising tale of a spirited spinsters unrequited love. This world premiere collaborative work will feature a cast made up of ensemble members from both A Traveling Jewish Theatre and Word for Word. World premiere!
