Georges Lammam
(Music performed by Daniel Hoffman April 14 – May 1.)
A young man is born to an Israeli mother and a Palestinian
father. Both peoples claim him. Torn apart by unending conflict, he embarks
on a journey through the collective memory of the Middle East. The shared
and competing stories of each culture push and pull at him as he searches
for reconciliation. The play incorporates a range of characters, bold
physicality and original live music.
BLOOD RELATIVE's
Post-show Events
"One of the things that I said all along is that I would like to
help change the conversation. The same conversation is happening over
and over and over, so what I would like is to offer something out of which
a different conversation begins."
-- Blood Relative's Director, Aaron Davidman in conversation
with the Pink Section's Sam Hurwitt
In order to help foster that "different conversation,"
TJT has
partnered with two organizations to create post-show events. They are
as follows:
Post-show dialogues with the Palestinian-Jewish dialogue group
of the Bay Area.
Thurs., Mar. 24 (8pm show)
Sat., Mar. 26 (2pm show)
Sun., Apr. 3 (7pm show)
Sun. Apr. 17 (7pm show)
Thurs., Apr. 21 (8pm show)
Sat. Apr. 30 (8pm show)
These events are designed to create a mini-dialogue session. Its
hosts, Elias Botto and Libby and Len Traubman, will lead the
group through the concepts of dialogue and invite the audiences
to walk through an experience of listening and sharing.
Post-show panel discussions with the New Israel Fund
Thurs.,
Mar. 31 (8pm show)
Sat., Apr. 16 (8pm show)
These events will include discussion with some of the cast and
members of the larger community who are working on issues related to Blood
Relative.
For more information about these events, call the TJT box office
at 415/285-8080.
Post-show discussion: Is there value to Jewish-Palestinian dialogue?
Does dialogue work?
April 28, 2005 (8pm show)
Guests include Blood Relative Director, Aaron Davidman Aaron
Davidman and members of an East Bay Palestinian-Jewish dialogue group.
