This summer, we're
busy preparing our 23rd season which will open on October 4 with the West Coast premiere of Isaac by David Schulner. This bold new look at the story of the sacrifice of Isaac was workshopped at the SundanceTheatre Lab, directed by Craig Lucas. Schulner has been working with ATJT on a new version of the play which will be directed by Joan Schirle, Co-Artistic Director of the Dell'Arte Company. ATJT founders Corey Fischer and Naomi Newman will play Abraham and Sarah and Associate Artist Aaron Davidman will play Isaac, On January 10, ATJT founder Albert Greenberg's eagerly awaited new Ladino music-theatre work, Una Noche de Suenos vidi Flores/A Dream of Flowers will have its world premiere, directed by Helen Stoltzfus. After an interlude of cutting-edge Jewish comedy (February 21 - March 17), ATJT will present a second world premiere: Naomi Newman's adaptation of Song of Songs (translated by Chana and Ariel Bloch). Song of Songs will open on April 11 and run until May 19. |
